As we patiently endure the government-imposed self-isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is natural for us to long for a return to normalcy. But, instead of waiting for gyms, restaurants, or even our churches to re-open, we should be waiting for the Lord's salvation and his return. He alone should be our highest expectation everyday and in every circumstance, even after the quarantine is lifted.

Below is a sample of Scripture passages that encourage the believer to wait for the Lord, either his second coming, or for his salvation in healing, trouble, etc.

I wait for your salvation, O Lord. (Gen 49:18)

Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long. (Psa 25:5)

Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! (Psa 27:14)

Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord! (Psa 31:24)

But for you, O Lord, do I wait; it is you, O Lord my God, who will answer. (Psa 38:15)

For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him. (Psa 62:5)

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope... (Psa 130:5)

Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him. (Isa 30:18)

It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. (Lam 3:26)

But as for me, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me. (Mic 7:7)

And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. (Rom 8:23)

...so that you are not lacking in any gift, as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ... (1Co 1:7)

...wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come. (1Th 1:10)
